Our extensively patented technology enables systemic delivery of highly potent substances that are released in a controlled manner only in the target tissue to achieve a local effect.
The use of nanocarriers for targeted drug delivery represents a decisive difference to traditional systemic drug administration. First, dosages of highly potent substances can be reduced and at the same time undesirable side effects can be limited. Second, unfavorable properties of active ingredients, such as a poor solubility, can be overcome, and the bioavailability of substances improved. In addition, the carrier system protects the drug from the body’s defense or degradation mechanisms ("stealth effect").
UNIVERSAL PLATFORM TECHNOLOGY
Our flexible, modular principle is based on polymer nanocarriers that can be customised and thus made usable for a versatile range of applications.
Components of our nanocarrier technology:
POLYMERS
determine the spherical character, the size and the biocompatibility
FUNCTIONALISED PARTICLE SURFACE
ensures targeted transport to affected cells or tissue
ENCAPSULATED SUBSTANCE
or a different substance
The components can be modified and adapted to a specific issue, e.g. the controlled drug release, to obtain an optimal transport system.
Due to the patented coupling of the particle surface with dyes, therapeutic and diagnostic properties can be combined ("theranostics"), as in vivo detection is made possible. For example, transport efficiency can be monitored and the function of an organ measured at the same time.
